Termites – Testing designed to check for signs of structural damage caused by wood boring insects.
Radon - A radioactive gas formed by the breakdown of radium that occurs naturally especially in areas over granite, and is considered hazardous to health. Radon gas can accumulate in homes, especially in confined areas such as attics and basements. A radon test consists of using a radon kit that would be hung or placed in the lowest habitable floor of the house for two to seven days. After the kit has sat for the required amount of time, the inspector then sends the kit to a lab for analysis.
Thermography - Measures surface temperatures of the exterior of a home by using infrared video and still cameras. These devices record the temperature variations of the building's skin, ranging from white for warm regions to black for cooler areas. The resulting images help determine if insulation has been installed correctly and in the proper amount.
